Regular youth events are held once a month. They always begin with a group devotion and may include games, bowling, a movie, or another planned activity.
Past service projects have been many and varied. The youth have led devotions at the New confirmands are welcomed, and high-school seniors bid farewell, during an annual retreat each summer. In past years, the group has gone to the Texas Gulf coast, to the campus of Concordia, River Forest, Illinois, and to national youth gatherings led by Higher Things, a confessional organization for youth. Each retreat has a Biblically based theme, and time is spent each day in devotions and Bible studies revolving around that theme. We normally do a community service project during the retreat, and there is still plenty of time for fun and relaxation. The purpose of these retreats is to gather our youth around the Word. We want them to bond together as a group—and specifically, a Christian group. Everything we do, down to the smallest detail, is designed to further that end. The High School Sunday School class meets in the youth room at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning studying a variety of current concern topics, books of the Bible, etc.

Our Willing Active Youth, led by caring and responsible counselors, keep the activity going at a rapid pace with a good balance of fellowship and service/mission projects. All youth in grades 9-12 are encouraged to participate in this program.
Nelson Center, a residential treatment center for children, collected needed items for the Ronald McDonald House in Ft. Worth, adopted a family from our Angel Tree, delivered gifts, worked in soup kitchens, painted senior citizen centers, and have conducted a "Trick or Treat for Cans" on Halloween to benefit the Community Storehouse. They hold a Braille workshop in our center on the second Sunday of each month.
