Youth Confirmation

altMessiah's youth confirmation program is a three year course running from sixth grade through eighth grade.

The sixth grade class meets on Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour for a Bible History course, taught by members of the Board of Elders.

Confirmation I and II  (7th - 8th grade) meet on a weeknight, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Conf. I meets with Pastor Kitzmann on Thursday evenings and Conf. 2 meets with Pastor Huebel on Tuesday evenings.  The class schedule roughly follows the school year schedule; there are no summer classes.  This is an extensive study of basic Christian doctrine supplemented by a rigorous memory program.

The course ends with an oral examination on the Friday evening before Confirmation Day, which is always held on the first Sunday in May.  Upon completion of this course and the rite of confirmation, the young student becomes a communicant member of the church.
